Kids healthy garden program Thorold Public Library

Healthy Kids Community Garden | Thorold Public Library

Let’s choose to boost veggies and fruit as a part of healthy living in our community by participating in the Healthy Kids’ Community Garden at the Thorold Public Library.  Kids are encouraged to boost their intake of fruits and veggies with a series of exciting programs that promote wellbeing and healthy living.

Check out the range of programs covering Healthy Homemade Baby Food; Healthy Snack Alternatives, You’re the Chef Program, Community Garden Project, Easy Snack Prep Tutorials, and Nutrition Reading Resources.   Registration is required for all programs.  Phone the Library to register or obtain more information, 905-227-2581.

“We’ve already picked our first zucchini of the season! We also got the base for one heck of a side salad. We harvested two types of lettuce, spinach, tiny tomatoes,” noted Rebecca Lazarenko in the Thorold Public Library blog article.

Visit the Library, 14 Ormond St. N.  on Saturdays at 10:30 am, up to August 19, 2017.  Go online thoroldpubliclibrary.ca for more details on the program presented in conjunction with the Healthy Kids Community Challenge Niagara.

The local program produced by the Thorold Public Library is a healthycollaboration of community partners including the City of Thorold, Thorold Horticultural Society, Ontario Early Years Centre, Niagara Region Public Health, Thorold Seniors Association, Thorold Lions Club, and Thorold Foodland.
