Health Awareness Goals in August

August is a month packed with health and wellness initiatives to help us live well in Thorold. Check out these ideas to fill your calendar with some activities for a healthy lifestyle.

National Cleanse Your Skin Week

It’s National Cleanse Your Skin Week! This is a time to refresh your skin and your skincare routine. Speak with a pharmacist at Henderson’s Pharmacy for advice on your skin care needs. During National Cleanse Your Skin Week, the idea is to start a daily skin care routine that will help keep your skin soft, healthy and happy all year long.

Cleansing your skin correctly throughout the year is important. For some skin types such as dry, oily or acne-prone, over-cleansing can cause more harm than good.  Ask the staff at Henderson’s about skincare products that are right for you. Check out #NationalCleanseYourSkinWeek on social media to follow the news on this topic.

International Cat Day

On August 8, we can celebrate International Cat Day in Thorold! Join the conversation on our Facebook page and tell us what makes your cat special.

Spread the word to all you cat lovers in Thorold and help promote international cat day.  The idea is to celebrate one of humanity’s oldest and most beloved pets.

Did you know owning a cat has been shown to improve mental health and to relieve stress, anxiety or depression.  With this in mind, please join us to celebrate international cat day and tell us a funny cat story or joke.

Be Kind to Humankind Week

Later in the month, it’s Be Kind to Humankind Week!  From August 23 – 29, the goal of this initiative is to inspire people in Thorold to help make the world a better place. Simply stated, Be Kind to Humankind Week is an annual celebration of kindness. Join the conversation on our Facebook page or Twitter and tell us how someone showed you extra kindness and made you smile.
