We saw a broad range of generations in attendance at the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home Spring Open House on March 18. It was nice to see seniors mingle with their grandchildren as families enjoyed the community event. Actually, it is interesting to browse around the facility and view the heritage photographs on display. The collection of photos captures many generations in our local history. At the Open House, guests were treated to foods and light refreshments in the spacious lounge. A celebration cake was presented to thank their receptionist Judy Wright for more than 20 years of service to the locally owned funeral home. A recent addition to the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home staff, Funeral Director Krystal Riddell was on site to meet everyone. Staff was on hand to show their innovative keepsake and memorial options now available at the funeral home. Visitors also learned about the BFH Grief and Bereavement Support Program. Guests picked up the Funeral Planning and Bereavement Guide; a glossy new publication compliments of BFH.
Members of the business community attended the community event at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home located on 2 Regent Street in Thorold. John Damico from the Greater Thorold Business Council and his wife Elaine, a Thorold Seniors Centre volunteer and many other community leaders were at the event.
Overall, the Open House was a nice 2nd anniversary celebration for the family business operated by new owners Kelly Liddycoat and her husband Rick Westlake.

Bocchinfuso Funeral Home was built as a funeral home in 1972. Formerly the Lamb Funeral Home, built by Bill Lamb, is located in downtown Thorold. Purchased in 2015 by husband and wife team, Rick Westlake and Kelly Liddycoat, the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home has been Thorold’s premier family-run funeral home for more than 40 years. With the addition of experienced Funeral Director Krystal Riddell (née Rea), Rick, Kelly and Krystal will facilitate any burial, entombment or cremation requirement. Although their in-house chapel can accommodate up to 175 people for funeral, memorial or non-denominational services, they can also arrange funerals offsite — from small graveside services to large funeral services at any of the numerous places of worship or other locations in Thorold and surrounding area. As part of our service, Rick, Kelly and Krystal will help plan receptions at the location of your choice.
