TCAG Hosts Citizizenship Ceremony |  National Flag Day

New Canadians will be introduced at a special citizenship ceremony at the TCAG / Nick Basciano Centre in Thorold, 1 pm, February 15, in celebration of the nation’s 150th birthday in 2017
On behalf of the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Vance Badawey, Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre will welcome 30 new citizens at the ceremony.

The presentation is open to the general public and there is no admission charge.  Free parking is available at the Centre.

Check out Canada 150 on line for events being held across the country to celebrate this landmark anniversary. Along with new Canadians receiving their citizenship, Canadians across the country are encouraged to reaffirm their citizenship and share what citizenship means to them on social media using #MyCitizenship and #Canada150.
National Flag of Canada Day will be also celebrated. On February 15, 1965 the Canadian national flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill. This year, the National Flag of Canada is celebrating its 52nd anniversary. The Maple Leaf has become our country’s most visible symbol, identifying Canada and Canadians to the world.
The Nick Basciano Centre/ Thorold Community Activities Group is located at 131 Richmond Street.
