Dan Giancola Gala | Give the Boot to Mental Illness

Dan Giancola hit it nicely in packing a full house at a fundraising gala to “Give the Boot to Mental Illness” in the Stone Mill Inn on April 7.  A Thorold native, Dan Giancola from BTO Performance  Personal and Group Training headed up a fundraising team to support local agencies offering mental health services in Niagara including Pathstone Mental Health which provides mental health programs for children and local youth in Niagara , RAFT Centre the RAFT Centre that provides supports and services for at-risk youth, Canadian Mental Health Association Niagara Branch, & Southridge Shelter,  a support group that offers services such as an emergency hostel and shelter for the homeless.

Representatives from the fundraising beneficiaries were in attendance to show the collaboration in our community with Samantha Kenny, Southridge, Jennifer Fisk, CMHA, Mike Lethby, RAFT, & Shawn Baylis, Pathstone, among other local leaders in mental health.

Michael Landsberg, mental health advocate and TSN talk show host was featured as the guest speaker. Country performer Brad Battle and local band Tuscany entertained the audience. A silent auction created excitement and pumped up the donations to the charities.
