Health Fair Connects Community With Doctors | Practitioners

Pictured above at the Niagara Health Expo in 2016, Dianne Henderson from Gluckstein Lawyers (third from left) rewards Hotel Dieu Shaver nurses Debby, Mary and Mandy.  The nurses were happy to receive the adorable Gluckstein Bears as a form of appreciation for taking good care of the patients at the hospital.
The community spirit of giving back and showing appreciation will continue at the Expo on Oct. 19th.

People looking for advice on healthcare can meet experts at the Niagara Health Expo to be held at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre on Saturday, October 19, 9:30am to 2pm.  Offering tips from head to toe, a select group of healthcare providers will cover a broad range of services including experts for personal injury claims, mental health, weight loss, hearing health, fitness training, physiotherapy, to name a few categories. Exhibitors expected to join the health fair will cover an array of categories such as diabetic care, pharmacy, home health care, medical marijuana treatments, supplements, among other displays.

The community-based health fair is designed to empower residents to get information and learn how to take care of their families’ health, safety, and environmental well-being.

The 6th annual event will feature exhibitors with displays, demonstrations, product samples, and information hand-outs. Expert speakers at the Expo will enable healthcare professionals to connect directly with attendees in a comfortable, interactive environment. Healthcare providers can join the event to connect with people in the community, while also networking with professional colleagues.

Thanks to supporters including sponsor Gluckstein Lawyers, free admission and free parking for visitors will make it easy for the community to participate at the event hosted by Hotel Dieu Shaver.  The Centre located at 541 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines, will open up 5,700 square feet of therapy space, which will be converted into a health fair for the one day event.

The In-House Medical Consultant with Gluckstein Lawyers, Dianne Henderson plans to show special appreciation of Hotel Dieu Shaver staff visiting the Expo.  As a volunteer Board Member of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation, Henderson values the dedication and excellent patient care shown by the hospital’s team.

“This centre of excellence in Niagara is an ideal venue for the Expo. As a community event, the Expo is a great opportunity to show public recognition for the talented team at the Hotel Dieu Shaver. From housekeepers to nurses, from physicians to pharmacists, and from therapists, maintenance workers, and all other team members, let’s show our appreciation for their dedication in taking good care of the patients,” stated Henderson.

With its Niagara office located in Thorold 3350 Merrittville Hwy., Suite 14, Gluckstein Lawyers services the Golden Horseshoe Area from Hamilton
 to Fort Erie.

Attendees can expect to learn, connect, and interact with more than 30 exhibitors at the Expo designed as a “one stop shop” to inspire people of all ages to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

“Local healthcare experts can interact with residents at the Expo and connect with people in the community.  We know health fairs effectively link the community with public health and medicine. Local professionals can build relationships with colleagues in healthcare, develop referrals for their practice, while speaking with a public group on health topics salient to people in Niagara,” said Paul Carfagnini, event producer.

TOPS, Taking Pounds Off Sensibly will be an exhibitor at the Expo. If you are searching for weight loss support in the Thorold area, a weekly TOPS Club meeting is held at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church gym, 24 Clairmont St., Wednesday, 6pm to 6:45pm
