The Knights of Columbus 2319, a group of Catholic men dedicated to helping people in need of assistance, is pleased to announce the success of its 4th annual Garden Fest fundraising event. Through the community-wide support and generosity of our patrons, partners sponsors and volunteers, the 3-day April event held in the Holy Rosary Hall parking lot raised $4,108 to support Wellspring Niagara, Special Olympics, and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Although the weather was a bit chilly and windy on April 12, 13, 14, Garden Fest brought together local residents happy to buy top quality, locally supplied products for a healthy lawn or garden while supporting our charity partners. Customers purchased bags of compost, fertilizer, grass seed, and potted plants. Shown above in the feature photo, the Knights of Columbus volunteers are shown bagging the compost that sold out to boost the fundraising. Pictured from left, Steve Charlton, Nick Pizzacalla, John Perri, and Albert Ciamarra.
Knights of Columbus members volunteered to fire up the grill for a barbecue lunch at Garden Fest on Saturday, April 13. Smiling for their fans, from left, Tim Whalen, Mike Pennachetti, and Mike Cugino.
Great teamwork!
In addition to the Barbecue on Saturday, visitors purchased tickets in the Knights annual 50/50 draw throughout the 3-day event, as well as making donations to the Bottle Drive and Food Collection to support the cause. The event shows us as a wonderful demonstration of the positive results we can achieve when the community is united for a common cause.
Susan Vigna entered a lucky ballot to win the Garden Fest door prize in a free draw offering a $50 gift certificate from Elio’s Foot Comfort Centre as well as a branded Journal with Pen and Coffee Tumbler donated by Impact Promotions. Susan is pictured receiving the prize package presented to her by Knights of Columbus 2319 Chancellor, SK Dea, Frank Durbiano.

“We are grateful for the generous support for Garden Fest and appreciate all the companies and individuals who contributed to its success. The funds raised will be donated to our charity partners. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. Together, we are truly making a difference in our community.”
