Harvest Fest Thorold

Harvest Fest Is Growing Fun – Food – Fundraising

Community Event Runs September 10 & 11 at Holy Rosary Hall, Thorold

A Tomato Sauce Contest is just one ingredient that is cooking up interest in Harvest Fest with a farmers’ market, arts and crafts show, food court and other fun activities to support charities on September 10 and 11 at Holy Rosary Hall in Thorold.

The 2-day event hosted by the Knights of Columbus will run on Saturday, September 10 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, September 11 from 9 am to 1 pm.  A Kids’ Safety Village with the Thorold Fire Department and Niagara Regional Police Services will be set up in the parking lot. A Rummage Sale, as well as a food collection and bottle drive will support local charities.

Proceeds from Harvest Fest will go to Hospice Niagara, Wellspring Niagara, and St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank.

Who Will be Crowned Thorold Sauce Boss?

For the Tomato Sauce Contest, amateur sauce makers are invited to bring their cooked, homemade tomato sauce to Harvest Fest for a chance to win prizes and the honour to be crowned “Thorold’s Sauce Boss.”

Prizing inlcudes a Club Capri $100 voucher and John’s Meat Shop $100 gift certificate, as well other goodies.

Judging starts at 12 pm, Sun. Sept. 11.

Sauces will be judged in four characteristics: texture, visual appeal, taste/ flavor, and aroma / smell. Go to kofc2319.org for contest rules and more details on the contest.
