The Harvest Fest buzz is building. Sweet news on the second annual event has our community humming in anticipation of fun, food and festivities. The second annual event is set for Saturday, September 9th, 9 am to 4 pm at Holy Rosary Hall in Thorold.
A farmers market, arts and crafts show, food court, kids safety village, rummage sale, prize draws, and many activities will be featured at the community event with free entry for people of all ages.
Arts and Crafts Show
For arts and crafts fans, Harvest Fest offers an opportunity to appreciate and purchase exceptional handcrafted goods, while learning about the cultural tapestry of our community. Vendors in the crafts show inside the hall include Suzi’s Crazy Towel Hobby, Rewinded Art, 23 Fish Malas, The Wood Samaritan, Josephine’s Knits, Carrie’s Cozies, Peacock Lane Crafty Boutique, and Tesori Nails with Sarah.
Food Court
Attendees can satisfy their appetite in the food court inside the hall. Fenwick Pie Company will be selling pies, tarts, cookies, brownies, date squares and carrot cake with some gluten free options as well. The Knights will be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs and sausages on the barbecue.
Farmers Market
Festival attendees will be invited to meet the vibrant and enthusiastic vendors featuring locally grown fruits and vegetables. The farmers market in the parking lot will have booths for Small Scale Farms, Victor’s Farm Shares, Schenck Farms (potted mums), The Juice of Kings (fresh grapes and grape juices), Marigold Farm, and Marko Honey Bees.
Kids Safety Village
In the Kids Safety Village, visitors will find the the Thorold Fire Department as well as the Niagara Regional Police Services offering safety tips and a chance to snap photos with their cruiser and fire truck. Kids can also have fun in the free craft-making classes during the day. Kids will be treated to free ice cream from the the Knights and free balloons compliments of Air Liquide. Therapy Tails of Ontario, the Humane Society of Greater Niagara, and the Thorold Garden Club will be among the exhibitors meeting visitors at the event. It’s all about the community coming together.
Prize to be won
Go to the welcome desk inside the hall lobby to meet the Knights of Columbus members and get your tickets for chances to win a variety of prizes.
VIP Door Prize Pack: Visitors can enter a free ballot for a chance to win the door prize pack stuffed with items donated from Harvest Fest vendors.
Raffle Prizes: Tickets for the raffle draw will be sold for $2 each or 3 for $5 for a chance to win a special selection of prizes including Canadian Tire gift cards, Stokes Seeds Prize Pack ( gift card, cap and pen), among other cool stuff.
50/50 Draw: Buy tickets for the Knights of Columbus 2319 50/50 draw to be held in December.
Proceeds to Hospice Niagara – Special Olympics – SVDP Food Bank
To give the fundraiser a boost, the Knights are also holding a food drive and bottle collection along with a rummage sale inside the hall. Proceeds from the fundraising event will be donated to Hospice Niagara, Special Olympics and St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
The Knights of Columbus 2319 are building this September tradition that brings together residents and visitors from far and wide to experience the charm and vibrancy of our wonderful town. This year’s festival promises to be even more enchanting, with a wide array of activities, and of course, a diverse collection of crafts and locally grown produce that showcase the immense talent of our local artisans and growers.
