The Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation launched their annual Snowflakes and Angels Campaign by raising the Christmas spirit on November 17. Kids enjoyed crafts, face painting and inflatables in the St. Catharines Market Square.
We were happy to meet many Thoroldites sharing the love at the event including George and Mary Gasbarino with their friends Rena and Greg McDonald ( pictured above).
Qualifiers in the Together In Paradise contest Lisa and Frank Vescio were there waiting for the big draw by 105.7 EZ Rock. The radio station’s prize presentation created a buzz with a Sandals Resort vacation on the line. Lisa did not win the vacation prize this time, but the couple looked like they were enjoying the event (pictured above) with a variety of fun things to do.
Illuminated Christmas Tree Lights Up HDS Campaign
Santa was in a photo booth for pictures. Kids had fun creating crafts. Volunteers sold “Don’t Ever Quit” T shirts and raffle tickets. At approximately 6:00 pm, the Tree Lighting Celebration began with Christmas carols by the Denis Morris Secondary School choir. Following the choral performance, the light switch was flipped to officially light the Christmas Tree at City Hall, launching the Snowflakes and Angels Christmas Campaign for the HDS Foundation.
Shine a light on the tree and honour a loved one
By making a donation to the campaign, donors can shine a light on the tree and honour a loved one with a contribution that helps at Hotel Dieu Shaver. For every $50 donation made to HDS Foundation a light on the tree will be illuminated.
Proceeds will help purchase patient care equipment bring comfort, care and hope to patients at Niagara’s only rehabilitation hospital.
By making a gift to the campaign donors are helping to ensure Hotel Dieu Shaver patients can optimize their recovery and improve their quality of life at Niagara’s only rehabilitation hospital.
