Strawberry Fest – Yard Sale – Beaverdams Church – June 17

The Friends of Beaverdams Church will hold their Stawberry Fest and Yard Sale on June 17, 2023 from 10AM-1PM in Thorold.
Fresh local, luscious strawberries will be on sale. Pre-orders are recommended to ensure availability of fresh baked Strawberry/Rhubarb pies and tarts. To order call Melanie at 905-227-2174 or email mbattell@gmail.com or Donna, 905-227-7556.
The fundraiser will feature a Silent Auction with items for bidding. Kids can enjoy fun activities at the festival. Visitors will find gently used treasures on sale as well as many different kinds of plants for buyers.

The exterior of the building is complete and now we are working on the interior restoration which is a big task. The building has been rewired, carpentry repairs made, and drywalled. The painters will be painting the interior.

The community is invited to view the renovated church interior

Hopefully we will be able to have people inside to see the restoration by June. We have fingers crossed that the weather holds so that the paint cures in time for the sale.

Beaverdams Church was built in 1832. Over time, the church became home to a much-loved community Sunday School, which operated until the late 1970s. The church was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1994. Bought by the City of Thorold in 2010, it was sold in 2014 to the Friends of Beaverdams Church.

Strawberry Fest supports restoration of heritage building

By holding the Strawberry Fest, the Friends of Beaverdams Church are working towards restoring the heritage building and preserving a piece of local history.

We really hope the community will come out to support us, buy pies and tarts and peruse our gently used Yard Sale items for great deals.
