Ready for a dip in the community pool?
Free Community Pool swim passes are back for another season at Henderson’s Pharmacy. Due to the popularity of the community service aimed to promote fitness and fun, Henderson’s will cover the entrance fee for adults and children who wish to swim at the Thorold Community Pool.
Visit Henderson’s Pharmacy and ask for a pass at the Front Street check out. Henderson’s also supplies pool passes to the Thorold Community Activities Group to ensure all the children in their summer programs enjoy a swim every day.
The outdoor pool operated by City of Thorold is located at 111 Richmond Street and is now open daily as weather conditions permit, up to the Labour Day weekend. Pool hours may be extended in the event Niagara Region Public Health issues a heat advisory or alert. The Thorold Community pool is a 6 lane, 25-metre outdoor pool that includes a gently sloped beach entry, spiral slide, diving board, splash pad and barrier-free access via a wheelchair accessible ramp into the pool. The pool is also equipped with male and female change rooms and washrooms, a sound system and sun shelters around the perimeter of the pool.
The pool provides the community with opportunities to participate in public swimming, lane swimming, Lifesaving Society swim lessons as well as Lifesaving Programs from Rookie Patrol to Bronze Cross.
The pool has a maximum operating capacity of 350 including patrons in the pool and on the pool deck. The pool is also equipped with male and female change rooms and washrooms, a sound system and sun shelters around the perimeter of the pool.
Public swimming is available at 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday beginning on Monday, June 26, 2017; weekend public swimming available at 1:00 p.m. begins on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
