Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold is stepping up to make sure students in need are equipped with a backpack with school supplies, healthy snacks and a pair of brand-new sneakers.
Students need supplies to learn whether they go back to school physically or take online classes
Betty-Lou Souter, CEO of Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold
This year the handout will run from August 20-21 and August 24-28. Parents or guardians can apply for the Community Care program by calling their office in Thorold at 905-227-9240 to book appointments or 905-685-1349 for their St. Catharines location.
Community Care asks interested parents/guardians to call as soon as possible because all appointments will be set on a first-come, first-served basis.
Key points to remember:
- Pick up dates will be August 20-21 & August 24-28
- Parents or guardians should have their children’s current shoe size ready when they call.
- For those who are not currently a Community Care client, they can still call and discuss the steps for registration.
Community Care is hoping people will consider monetary donations to support the program.
A donation of $25 will help one child in our community return to school on the right foot, $50 will help two children, $100 will help four children.
