This year Harvest Fest will take place on Saturday September 9th, 9 am to 4 pm at Holy Rosary Hall in Thorold. Proceeds from Harvest Fest 2023 will be donated to Hospice Niagara, Special Olympics and St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

Our goal is to grow the inaugural Harvest Fest event we held in September 2022 at our Holy Rosary Parish Hall. Given the general enthusiasm we witnessed last fall and the positive feedback that flowed in from our community, our members decided to keep growing the event at the hall in September 2023.

In its first year, Harvest 2022 included an artisan fair with crafters, farmers (honey and peppers) as well as the Knights of Columbus booth with fresh fall vegetables and potted mums. The Thorold Fire Department and Niagara Regional Police were featured in the Kid’s Safety Zone. The Knights also featured a food court inside the hall for visitors to purchase a variety of products to enjoy, while connecting with friends from our community.

At the event, the Knights also promoted their 50/50 raffle tickets, accepted donations of non-perishables for SVDP food bank and a refundable bottle drive.

Bargain hunters were thrilled to find their treasures at the Harvest Fest Rummage Sale inside the hall. All in all, in its first year Harvest Fest raised over $3,000 for various charities. This year the Knights will be extending further invitations to other vendors and farmers and hope to also have more organizations attend.

Overall, the K of C four events over the last three years in Thorold (Garden and Harvest Fest events) have raised more than $12,500 in donations to various charities such as Hospice Niagara, Wellspring Niagara, Our Lady of the Hold Rosary Church, St Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Special Olympics, the Niagara Health Foundation for the Walker Family Cancer Centre, and the Thorold Community Activities Group, to name a few.
