The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 Thorold will run their annual Poppy campaign starting Friday, October 29th. Donations collected during the Poppy Campaign are held in Trust at the Legion’s branch level to directly support veterans and their families in the community and to help ensure Canadians “never forget”.
In the days leading up to November 11th, Poppies can be seen in every corner of this great

country. This show of support and display of remembrance would not be possible without the efforts of Legionnaires, Cadets, and volunteers to distribute Poppies to the community through schools, community organizations and local businesses. We are so grateful for their efforts, and for the support of the many partners who welcome Legion volunteers and Poppy boxes into their locations.
Representatives from Branch 17 will visit local businesses in Thorold during the first week of the campaign to distribute poppy boxes. They hope local companies will support their campaign by hosting a Poppy box at their business location.
The Legion is also asking for contributions to their campaign. In response to the COVID19 restrictions, the Legion has set up online donations and will continue to accept cash or cheques. Please donate online or by mail, or drop your cheque to the Branch located at 3 Ormond Street South, Thorold.
Branch hours are Monday to Thursday 1 to 7 pm and Friday and Saturday 1 to 9 pm. Their mailbox is on the north service door of the building beside the old library by the BBQ. If you have any questions, please contact the Branch at (905) 227-1231 or email at poppy@thoroldlegion.ca
