NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION
As our community grows, our library needs to grow as well in order to meet our evolving literacy needs. The Thorold Public Library Board is nearing completion of a feasibility study for the Thorold Public Library’s facility and services that looks at ways and means of accommodating this growth.
The purpose of this study is to assess/identify the current deficiencies within the Thorold Public Library, present a preferred service delivery model for the Library, propose an optimum library size based on industry standards and future growth, outline services to be offered in the facility and determine functional areas and the kinds of spaces required, list general space/design requirements for a renovated/expanded facility and provide cost estimates associated with a renovated/expanded facility.
The management consulting firm of TCI, plus Hossack Associates (architects) and Beth Ross Associates (library operations specialist) was retained to guide us through the study.
The goal of this Public Information Session is to present the draft feasibility study, seek additional feedback from the community regarding the draft report and to ensure that all study-related concerns are addressed and captured, and identify solutions which will satisfy the concerns and issues affected stakeholders/agencies and the public. This session will provide you with an opportunity to meet the Feasibility Study Team and select Board Members and to view the study scope and discuss issues related to the study including recommended solutions.
