Shop Thorold Campaign Boosts Local Business During Revitalization

Shop local, eat, play, stay safe, and live well in Historic Downtown Thorold.
These are some key words in a new shop local campaign designed to support small businesses during the Downtown Thorold revitalization. As Phase One of the Front Street construction project winds up, the downtown revitalization will progress toward completion in December with a shop local boost.

COMPLETION OF PHASE ONE OF FRONT STREET CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

“As Phase One winds to a close and we move towards phase two of construction, it is already amazing to see the transformation that is taking place in downtown Thorold and how our businesses continue to innovate during challenging times. We recognize the need for open lines of communication and through our staff at the city we are doing our very best to mitigate business and resident concerns, while creating a great future for our downtown through these infrastructure improvements,”

Thorold Chief Administrative Officer, Manoj Dilwaria.

“We support the shop local and shop safe initiative and hope that our residents and region realize the benefit of doing so throughout this recovery phase,”

Dilwaria added.

SHOP SAFE AND SHOP THOROLD CAMPAIGN

Community leaders are stepping up to support the Shop Thorold campaign. Together, the Thorold Business Improvement Area, the City of Thorold, and the Niagara Region encourage residents to support local companies and help them recover economically as small businesses reopen and revitalize during the Pandemic.

“Our downtown revitalization project is a catalyst for future development. We understand the need to invest in areas of our community that will spark future investment from the private sector. This is a partnership; the City of Thorold stands strongly behind our small businesses. They significantly contribute to the fabric of our great community. It is these entrepreneurs that need the local community more now than ever to support them during this recovery phase, so that we can again show our resilience as Team Thorold,”

said Thorold Mayor, Terry Ugulini.

“We are all in this together! Shop now, shop local and shop safe,”

exclaimed Ugulini.
